The Game Plan

Muslim Evangelism: The Game Plan

What to Do...

1. SEE them as SINNERS, not just people of another god.

Remember, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Muslims, like anyone else, need Jesus. Don’t get caught up in thinking they just worship differently—see their need for a Savior.

2. SHOW them SIGNS that point to the Lord.

Actions speak louder than words! “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Sometimes, it’s how you live that points them to Christ more than anything you say.

3. SAY to them less of SCRIPTURES and more of stories.

Jesus Himself often used parables and stories to communicate deep truths (Matthew 13:34). Muslims may not respond to Bible verses right away, but they will be intrigued by stories that show God’s love and power. Keep it simple and relatable!

How to Do It...

1. Creativity of Initiatives

   - Muslims are best reached through initiatives, not Church programs.

“I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22). Don’t expect them to walk into your Sunday service. Get creative!

   - Initiate friendships.

Jesus Himself was a friend of sinners (Matthew 11:19). Be intentional in building relationships that are genuine and open doors for sharing your faith.

   - Start businesses with them as partners.

Business as mission? Why not! Like Paul, who was a tentmaker (Acts 18:3), you can work alongside them while showing them Christ in everyday life.

   - Establish an NGO or CBO with them.

“And do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Hebrews 13:16). Shared humanitarian work can be a powerful way to build bridges.

   - Attend their events.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice” (Romans 12:15). Show genuine interest in their lives by being present at their events. They’ll appreciate the connection.

2. Humility of the Reacher.

   - Seek to be a member of their community rather than a minister.

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45). Be known for how you serve and love others, not just how well you preach.

   - You will never convict or convince anyone—that’s the Spirit’s job.

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him” (John 6:44). Relax! Your job is to plant the seed, and the Holy Spirit will do the convicting.

3. Reality of Issues.

   - The Muslim doesn’t know they’re lost.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing” (1 Corinthians 1:18). Be patient and don’t get frustrated.

   - The message of the cross seems foolish to them.

Yep, it is. 1 Corinthians 1:18 again. Be prepared for this, and gently guide them with love and truth.

   - They need to be discipled, not just converted.

“Go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19). It’s not about just getting them to say the sinner’s prayer—it’s about walking with them as they grow in faith.

4. Intentionality of Discipleship.

   - Once they surrender to Jesus, walk with them to the end.

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6). Discipleship is a long walk, not a sprint. You’re in this together!

   - Discipleship is about being together.

Jesus didn’t send His disciples away to figure things out alone. He was with them. Be present, available, and committed to your new disciple.

5. Sanctity of Scriptures.

   - Stick to the Word and the meaning therein.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching” (2 Timothy 3:16). Don’t add or take away—just give them the pure Word of God.

   - Don’t give the Word meaning—get meaning from the Word.

“Rightly handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). Don’t twist scripture to fit your narrative. Let the Word speak for itself.

   - Know The Word, know His Word.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105). The more you know His Word, the more you’ll know Him. This isn't just about head knowledge—it’s about living it out and letting His Word guide your steps daily. Don’t just skim the surface, dive deep!

6. Totality of Years.

   - Ministry is not for a season, but a lifetime.

“He who endures to the end will be saved” (Matthew 24:13). This isn’t a short-term gig. We’re in this for life! Your impact may not always be visible right away, but God is working through your persistence. If it will take a lifetime to convince a soul, can you allow God to use your lifetime for that other life?

   - We minister and serve until He returns or calls us home.

"Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23)—these are the words we live for. Keep ministering, keep serving, because the finish line is either when He calls us home or when He returns. Until then, game on!
