Spiritual Blessings Prayer Guide

Inspired by Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, this guide helps me shift my focus from material needs to embracing the spiritual blessings I have in Christ.


  1. Chosen by God (Ephesians 1:4)
    • Focus: Praise God for choosing me before the foundation of the world. Pray to embrace my identity in Christ.
    • Prayer: "Lord, thank You for choosing me to be holy and blameless in Your sight. Help me understand this truth deeply and walk in my calling."

  1. Adopted as God’s Child (Ephesians 1:5)
    • Focus: Celebrate being adopted into God’s family. Pray for a deeper revelation of my place as His child.
    • Prayer: "Father, thank You for adopting me through Jesus Christ. Let this truth shape my identity and help me live confidently as Your beloved child."

  1. Redeemed and Forgiven (Ephesians 1:7)
    • Focus: Reflect on the redemption and forgiveness found in Christ. Pray for a full understanding of His grace.
    • Prayer: "Lord, thank You for redeeming me and forgiving my sins. Help me to rest in Your mercy and extend it to others."

  1. Given Spiritual Wisdom (Ephesians 1:8-9)
    • Focus: Pray for insight to understand God’s will and purpose.
    • Prayer: "Holy Spirit, grant me wisdom and revelation to know the riches of Your grace and the mystery of Your will in my life."

  1. Sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13)
    • Focus: Ask for the Holy Spirit’s presence to confirm my belonging to God.
    • Prayer: "Father, seal me with the power of Your Holy Spirit, affirming my inheritance in You."

  1. Hope of Eternal Glory (Ephesians 1:18)
    • Focus: Pray for a clear vision of my heavenly calling and hope.
    • Prayer: "Lord, open the eyes of my heart to see the hope to which You’ve called me. Ground my faith firmly in eternity."

  1. God’s Power Working in Me (Ephesians 1:19-20)
    • Focus: Declare God’s resurrection power over my life.
    • Prayer: "Jesus, may Your incomparably great power work in me, transforming and equipping me for Your purposes."

  1. Alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:4-5)
    • Focus: Praise God for bringing me from death to life. Pray to live in this newness.
    • Prayer: "Thank You, Lord, for making me alive in Christ. Help me to walk in the fullness of this new life."

  1. United with Christ (Ephesians 2:6)
    • Focus: Pray for intimacy with Jesus and a heavenly perspective.
    • Prayer: "Father, draw me closer to You. Let me know what it means to be united with Christ, sharing in His victory."

  1. Brought Near to God (Ephesians 2:13)
    • Focus: Rejoice in being brought close through Christ’s blood. Pray for ongoing communion with God.
    • Prayer: "Thank You, Jesus, for bringing me near to God. May my life reflect this closeness daily."

  1. Access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18)
    • Focus: Celebrate the open access I have to God through the Spirit.
    • Prayer: "Lord, remind me that I can approach You boldly, as a Father who loves and hears me."

  1. God’s Dwelling Place (Ephesians 2:22)
    • Focus: Pray to be a dwelling place for God’s Spirit.
    • Prayer: "Holy Spirit, dwell in me fully. Transform me into a temple that glorifies Your name."

  1. Filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18)
    • Focus: Pray for a mighty filling of the Spirit for daily living.
    • Prayer: "Lord, fill me to overflowing with Your Spirit. Let me walk in Your power and presence every day."

  1. Equipped for Good Works (Ephesians 2:10)
    • Focus: Pray for empowerment to serve in God’s kingdom.
    • Prayer: "Father, prepare me for every good work You’ve planned for me. Let my life be a testimony of Your grace."

  1. Strengthened in the Inner Man (Ephesians 3:16)
    • Focus: Pray for inner strength and maturity in Christ.
    • Prayer: "Holy Spirit, strengthen me with power in my inner being so I can stand firm in faith."

  1. Rooted in Love (Ephesians 3:17-19)
    • Focus: Ask to be deeply rooted in God’s love and overflow with it.
    • Prayer: "Lord, let me grasp the width, length, height, and depth of Your love. May I live as a vessel of that love to others."
