Heart broken...
In Ezekiel 16, God was deeply disappointed with the behavior of the Israelites. He had been a loving Father to them, blessing them with prosperity and making them the envy of other nations. In essence, He had showered them with His goodness, but instead of responding with gratitude and faithfulness, they turned away and used those blessings to worship other gods. They created idols, built shrines, and set up places of worship dedicated to false gods.
God’s heart was broken.
It’s striking how the very blessings meant to draw them closer to God became the means of their downfall.
