When God Teaches the Teacher.

Back in 2021, we had a wonderful teaching on The Three Hebrew Boys.

Seven lessons stood out from that moment:

1. We should not forget who we are. We are in this world but not of it. (John 17)

2. We should not become like those who are of the world. We are a holy nation and a royal priesthood. (1 Peter 2)

3. God is able to help us at every point in our lives — don’t involve Him at the last minute.

4. Sometimes we actually suffer for doing the right thing.

5. We should be a positive influence to our friends. It was Daniel who decided and influenced his three friends.

6. We need friends who can encourage and pray with us — it might just save our lives.

7. We should not take credit for things others contributed to.

It was one of those teachings that felt simple yet solid — one that stays with you quietly.

This year, I shared those notes with Mwai, the brother who had taught that lesson back then, and his response opened my eyes even more. He said:

I’ve never forgotten that sermon because of how I received it. 😂 I was walking back from the supermarket and I told God, ‘Everybody knows about the three Hebrew boys. Show me something I or they don’t know.’ Nothing happened immediately. But when I got home and started praying in the Spirit, pictures and points began to flow through my mind. It was like I was being taught — not writing, just receiving. A lot of ahaa moments. I just told the Holy Spirit, ‘You see how you’ve taught me, teach them tomorrow.’

That’s the part that got me.

How God answers prayers is rarely predictable, but always personal.

Mwai didn’t get a thunderous revelation on the road — he got pictures and points during prayer. He didn’t plan a sermon — he received a lesson.

The same God who walked with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fire, still walks with His servants in preparation. He doesn’t just show up in the furnace; He shows up in the quiet moments before it.

When God gives you insight, He’s not just feeding your mind — He’s feeding those who’ll sit under your voice later.

So if you’ve ever prayed, “Lord, show me something I don’t know,” and it feels silent, don’t be discouraged. Keep walking. Keep praying. The revelation may not meet you on the road, but it will surely meet you in the room.

Because when God decides to teach the teacher, the whole class gets blessed.

Brother Mwai is one soldier and servant of our Lord. He was saved, he's been saved and I believe God that he will live on to been saved. If I would speak of an iron that God has used to sharpen me, it's this brother. May he live long enough to put my body in the ground and continually minister and serve the nations of this world.
